This week has felt much lighter and much more positive, I’ve even found it hard to decide what to include and what to leave out rather than having to struggle to find what to write – such a difference to last week!
I am failing massively in my quest to read more this year and I’m not even half way through The Muse that I started last month! When I’m feeling blah it’s much easier to crash out in front of Netflix than a book. Hopefully now I’m feeling in a better place I can pick up The Muse again and really enjoy it.
I have made a start on Belonging and Becoming and so has my husband. We’ve decided to read a chapter a week and work through it together. It’s part of being more intentional and conscious of the way we parent and the family culture we’ve created and want to cultivate. I’ll definitely be doing a full review of this book when we’ve finished it, though that could take a while!
Well I’ve managed to plough my way through the whole of Parks and Recreation and I loved every second of it. I’m you’ve got Amazon and love a comedy then I suggest you check it out. It has Amy Poehler (love her) Aziz Ansari and Chris Pratt amongst others and is up there with my favourite ever shows. Hmm.. I’ve done that like again where I talk something up massively.. here’s hoping you agree with me!
We don’t watch a lot of tv together as a couple but this week we’ve started the Santa Clarita Diet, the new big show to hit Netflix which stars Drew Barrymore. I’ll admit it took a couple of episodes for me to warm to it and get my head around it but now I’m really enjoying it. I’m looking forward to watching more over the weekend.
The girls and I have been loving watching the show, The Amazing World of Gumball. One of the great things about the kids getting older is that the programmes and films they choose can actually be interesting and fun to watch as a grown up too. Gumball is set in the 90s too which is why N thinks I love it so much! It’s so fun to curl up on the sofa with my girls and giggle along with them.
I’ve made nothing worth noting down here I’m afraid! I promise to do better next week.
For a long time now Jenny and I have talked about doing our own mini photo walk and finally this week we got around to doing it. We had a wander in a city local to us and had loads of fun snapping away and trying to not feel to self conscious when it was our turn to be in front of the camera and not behind it! It’s amazing how many little gems of places you can find even in a place that is so familiar to you. I’m going to do a separate post all about it but here are a few shots especially for this ‘wore’ section.
As always I’ve had my trusty Spotify app on as I tap away on my laptop and here are a few tracks that have stood out to me from my daily mixes this week.
You might recognise this one from This Is Us if you watch it. I’ve loved Sufjan for many years now and love his creativity and gentle spirit.
The next one I want to share is, Billie Marten and her song Heavy Weather. I love the breathy tone to her voice and the way her songs are produced. They feel so raw and beautiful.
Here are my favourites from this week’s #LittleLoves community on Instagram,
