Today was supposed to be moving day but unfortunately due to a delay in paper work we’re now moving later in the month. I must admit I am disappointed, but at least we’re still moving and I’ve got a few extra days to pack up.
Are you ready for some positivity? Grab a cuppa and enjoy my Little Loves, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.
I’ve finished The Girl of Ink and Stars and thoroughly enjoyed it. Though it’s technically a YA novel and actually won Waterstones Children’s Book Of the Year 2017, I’d still recommend it to us grown ups. The descriptive imagery is wonderful and the plot just complex enough. My nine year old tried to read it last year but couldn’t follow it, she wants to give it a go again now though.
After reading on Halina’s blog a recommendation for The Essex Serpent I popped on Amazon and Primed it, and I’m so pleased that I did. I’m only a few chapters in but will do a full review when I’ve finished it.
I’m honoured to have been featured in a series called Her Wisdom hosted by Karen over on 365 Pearls of Wisdom. I’ve known Karen since the early days of my blogging back in 2012, we’ve even met in real life at Britmums and shared a few coffees and giggles over glasses of win in the evenings. I enjoy reading this series and was so pleased when Karen got in touch and asked if I’d like to be interviewed for it. You can pop over and have a read here.
I’ve not watched a lot of television this week, it seems to be that funny in between time of things finishing but new things not quite starting, well apart from the eagerly anticipated Jamestown on Sky. Both the mister and I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next one.
We rented Passengers on Wednesday night and I loved it way more than I expected to. The trailer doesn’t give much of the story away, which these days is so rare, which meant the story line was a nice surprise.
This week I took the plunge and made the decision to get my fringe cut back in. If you’ve followed my blog for a long time you’ll know that I had a full fringe for quite a while a couple of years ago. I had my colour booked for Wednesday and while I was there I asked my lovely hairdresser to do my fringe, all the while crossing my fingers making sure I made the right choice!
We also ‘made’ the most of the gorgeous weather we’re having up North and on Sunday had a lovely pub lunch out after church. It’s not far from our new home and as you can see it’s surrounded my beautiful countryside.
I’m all about the high waisted Mom jeans at the moment, they are so comfy, and you know me, comfort always plays a big part in my clothing choices! I’m not one to suffer for fashion. As you can see these were taken before the hair style change.
Breton top and sunglasses – H&M
Belt – Vintage
Jeans – Primark
A big thanks to Jenny for taking these photos, we had a fun day together on Wednesday with a well over due catch up!
HAIM are back! I’ve been enjoying getting back into them on Spotify this week.
Instead of unpacking the house we’ll be having a slow family weekend, which to be honest is definitely needed!
Normally I share a collage of nine of my favourites from the #littleloves community on Instagram but I’m changing things up and just choosing one each week now. Partly this is because I don’t like having a grid photo on my feed (!!) but also I get bored easily and like to shake things up a bit! So head on over and see which photo is being featured this week. I’ll probably share a few more over on IG Stories. If you’re on Instagram and want to join in, it’s so easy just use the hashtag #littleloves on any photo that shows something little that you love – so that can be pretty much anything! I then share my favourites from the week on here and on my Instagram every Friday.
Fancy joining in?
Just copy the headings and use them as prompts in a blog post then link up below and let me know!
Don’t forget to show some love to the fellow bloggers sharing the little things that they’ve loved this week, by having a read and commenting on their posts too. Be sure to use the hashtag #littleloves if you’re on twitter so we can all keep an eye out for the posts and promote each others.
Here’s my badge if you fancy popping it on your post:
