First off I want to say a big thanks to all the bloggers that linked up their Little Loves post last week, we had over 45, which is more than I’ve ever had. I was so excited to read all the posts and get to know some blogs that I hadn’t read before. This week I feel much more like I have my head in the game, I guess with it being the first full week back at school and work helps a lot. In amongst the busyness we’ve also had my littlest girl’s birthday, a day that she has been counting down to for months! I feel bad that she had to spend it at school, but on the plus side for her she got to wear her own clothes and it was show and tell day so she got to take in a couple of her presents.
I decided to keep my subscription to Elle magazine that I gifted myself as a Christmas present last year. It’s the only magazine that I’ve found where the articles and content are engaging and interesting and the fashion is inspiring. As much as I love Pinterest and blogs for style inspiration I do love a good magazine to flick through with a coffee.
Blog wise I loved reading Halina’s Basic Skin Care Routine post this week. As someone that often goes to bed with make up on and has no clue about this kind of thing it was quite a revelation! I learnt loads, I just need to actually put it into practice now..!
I’m part of a few facebook groups and one of them is for women in business. It’s a fairly small group as these things go but one that is super supportive. One of the members Laura, who owns kids wear brand Muklet, wrote a great post on ‘why it’s a great idea to hire an entrepreneur‘ and it’s well worth a read.
This section has to be dedicated to my new favourite programme, Good Girls Revolt. A friend of mine recently recommended it, as a fellow feminist that’s interested in history of the women’s movement she knew I’d like it, and she was right. Think Mad Men, meets Newsroom, meets Made in Dagenham and that should give you a rough idea. Honestly, it’s fast become one of my favourite series.
Good Girls Revolt is available on Amazon prime video, sadly I’ve just found out that it’s not been taken on for any more seasons. Boo.
Another programme that’s worth a mention is Taboo with none other than Tom Hardy *swoon*
You are welcome!
It’s on Saturday night, 9pm on BBC1
As I mentioned earlier it was my littlest girl’s 6th birthday yesterday so we had a fun morning before school eating birthday breakfast and watching her open her presents. I made a quick chocolate cake for us to share at tea time. I’ve bought her cake for her party on Saturday, I felt guilty for like 5 seconds and then patted myself on the back for saving time and giving her a cake she loves.
This week it’s been all about boots and cosy cardigans, so no change there then! I bought myself some new boots in the sale (£14!). They’re similar to my other favourites but these have a heel, which is helpful for a small person like me!
I’ve had quite an eclectic mix of music on my Spotify this week, as always revisiting some of my old favourites. London Grammar were mentioned on my blog a whole lot of few years ago and I’ve been desperate for them to release new material. I was so excited when I spotted this!
Talking of bands coming back, today is definitely dedicated to The xx and their newly released new album.
Any London Grammar, or The xx fans out there?
We’ve got a busy weekend of parties and family visiting, so today I’ll be running around like a headless chicken trying to get last minute stuff organised for it all. January is such a busy month for us and I’m very envious of those that have a quiet few weeks in which to reflect for the year.. I don’t end up doing that until February!
Here are my favourites from this week’s #LittleLoves community on Instagram,
If you’re on Instagram and want to join in, it’s so easy just use the hashtag #littleloves on any photo that shows something little that you love – so that can be pretty much anything! I then share my favourites from the week on here and on my Instagram every Friday.
