The Easter holidays have begun! Goodbye school runs and hello lazy mornings! Goodbye time to work and hello fun-work juggle! We’ve had a lovely couple of days together but as you can see from two Little Loves posts in a row I haven’t had much time to blog. I’ve got lots of good posts in the pipeline, I just need to make some time to finish them all off.
Are you ready for more? Grab a cuppa and enjoy my Little Loves, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.
I’ve really been enjoying The Bricks That Built The Houses and I’m sadly coming to the end of it. Thanks to the girls happily playing together in the park on Thursday I had a good couple of hours to read (while glancing up every couple of minutes to check on them obviously). It’s just a shame it was so cold!
Thankfully the cafe serves great coffee, so that kept me warm.
Blog post wise I came across a post by Digital Mums that I really related to,
10 Holiday Hacks for Working Mums
It’s great post full of tips from mums that work from home, definitely worth a read if you fall into that bracket. Have a look here.
We finally saw Beauty and the Beast last weekend! Of course it was just as good as everyone has said it is, my two were mesmerised.
Television wise we gave The Good Fight a try, it’s a spin off from The Good Wife and if I’m honest I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t know how it would work with out Alicia, but I was pleasantly surprised and found myself drawn into the storyline. I have a feeling that this could be a good new series.
As for Netflix, 13 Reasons Why has been my complete obsession. I’ve squeezed in moments to watch it whenever possible and binged my way through the whole thing. I blame this for why I’ve not blogged at all! It is absolutely gripping, if rather depressing!
I’m afraid that this section is woefully under represented, but then, that’s not unusual for me! All I can say really is that I ‘made’ the house clean and tidy for the viewings we’ve had this week. I know, such a ropey link. Oh and I did make these cinnamon swirls at the weekend, when I say ‘make’ all I really did was slice the dough and pop them in the oven!
I picked up a couple of bits in Topshop this week, I know Topshop! A place I’ve hardly been in since hitting my thirties. I’ve been in desperate need of some jeans so I ventured in and browsed the Petite section. I was elated to find that I could fit back into my pre-children jean size! So of course I had to buy said jeans, and a top fell into my hands on the way to the till too.
I went for a pair of black high-waisted ‘Joni’s, £36
This is the top I bought and if you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably already spotted it.
With the sun making more of an appearance I’ve noticed a change in my music and I’m definitely going for lighter and more fun tunes.
I saw them in London a few years ago and they always remind me of summer days.
Of course I’ve still been loving podcasts and Hashtag Authentic continues to be my favourite. Something that really struck me in this weeks one about imposter syndrome and feeling the fear was thinking more about the feeling of self doubt and recognising it. What I took away from it was the two forms of fear – the fear of stepping into something big and the ‘monster under the bed’ kind. The first kind is as Sara says ‘excitement with a different dress on’ and I loved that expression. It definitely pin points how I feel about moving house.
Here are my favourites from this week’s #LittleLoves community on Instagram,
If you’re on Instagram and want to join in, it’s so easy just use the hashtag #littleloves on any photo that shows something little that you love – so that can be pretty much anything! I then share my favourites from the week on here and on my Instagram every Friday.
