Packing Boxes, Podcasts and a Couple of Gin and Tonics #LittleLoves

I’m saying hello from a house full of boxes, please forgive the lack of photos it’s been tricky to stay creative while juggling work and packing. I hope you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday? For me it passed in a blur of swimming galas, kids parties, boxes and tip runs for us. It was hard not to be jealous of all the day trips that kept popping up on my Instagram feed. I just need to keep reminding myself that we can’t do everything!

Are you ready for some positivity? Grab a cuppa and enjoy my Little Loves, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.

I don’t want to jinx it but I think I could be getting my book mojo back and it’s all things to what is essentially a YA novel, The Girl of Ink and Stars. I just don’t have the capacity for crime thrillers or anything slick at the moment. When I read I want to be swept up and taken off somewhere else, true escapism, and this book delivers that.

As for blog posts another Little Loves blogger shared this post by Suzanne, When Did Ordinary Become Meaningless, and it really resonated with me when I read it.

The Line of Duty was everything and more, and such a good end to the current season. I love that it is essentially one long story line as opposed to just individual seasons. If you enjoyed this season but haven’t seen the others then definitely get hold of the earlier ones, I know Netflix has a few but not all.

Has anyone been watching The Island on Channel 4? This year the two groups are under 30s and over 30s and it has been fascinating. When they voted to remove someone this week it was such uncomfortable viewing and felt almost Lord of the Flies-esque.

Netflix wise the girls and I have been enjoyed The Night at The Museum films. They are perfect family fun viewing and I love seeing the girls in fits of giggles over it. As for me I’m desperate for House of Cards to come back at the end of the month, until then I’m enjoying the weekly installments of Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars and Once Upon A TIme.

I’ve not done anything creative to list here this week apart from making a delicious dairy free chicken pie which my kids wolfed down – unheard of in our house. Sadly there’s no photos as it went too quickly! I used ready made filo pastry for the top and scrunched it up, I think they loved that the most.

Other than that does packing boxes count? I’ve made good headway but there’s still a long way to go. I’m dreading doing the kitchen so I think I’ll start doing bits of it now to break it up a little. Just one week until moving day now!

Oh and of course I’ve mad myself a few gin and tonics in the evenings to make up for not having wine anymore.

We’ve also been making choices on some new furniture, I think we’ve finally decided on a new bed from

You might have spotted in my instagram stories that I’ve been wearing my new dress that I mentioned last week. I absolutely love it and will be sure to take some proper photos of it to share next week. I’m afraid that other than one day in my new dress the rest of the week has been about jeans and joggers, there’s no point making an effort to stare at a computer screen or pack boxes!

I’ve blogged this week about my new found love of podcasts, Podcasts for Creative Business Owners and Bloggers, where I share my current favourites. They are each so inspiring and listening to them gives me the push and focus that I’ve needed.

Music wise I’ve been loving Sampha this week. I’ve heard this song on a couple of playlists and finally I’ve taken the time to really listen to more of his music and he’s fast become a new favourite.

Oh how cringe worthy was The Island? I actually felt quite sorry for him. I love that bed! I’ve recently found Made and I love it! They have some lovely bits. Line of duty was bloody amazing! Gutted it’s over with. Have a lovely weekend

Good luck with your move, I once moved 5 times in the space of 18 months so I know how stressful it can be. Line of Duty was so good, I watched season 1 & 2 on Netflix but am yet to watch season 3. I listen to podcasts in bed so I will have to take a look at some of the ones you have suggested. Have a lovely weekend.

I don’t envy you with the packing but at least when it’s done, it’s done – and you’ll have a lovely new home too! I hope moving day goes well when it comes round – we spent our bank holiday mostly doing DIY – about as much fun as packing boxes! x

I have never listen to a podcast ever I must check these out. Might get me into something new…. like I need that ! I need more time in the day that’s what I need. Thanks for hosting.

Oh I do hope the packing goes well, I cannot imagine what it would be like to pack up after 6 years with a little one. Yes to Line of Duty and we LOVE The Night at the Museum films. I cannot wait to take George to visit the museum in NYC one day. Have a lovely weekend x

Sounds like you deserve that gin after all the packing! That’s one thing I can’t stand and we’ve moved a LOT over the last few years. I’ve bookmarked your lust of podcasts to refer back to, I’m listening to Sara’s as I type this actually as I discovered hers a few weeks back – through #littleloves and am loving it. I still haven’t watched Line of Duty, it’s on my list of series to try to persuade the Mr to watch with me. Have a lovely weekend x

Good luck with the move! It will all be worth it- just to have new space to make your own. I love your new bed.
I might have to try podcasts, it might encourage me to stop working on the train and take some time to regroup.

I can’t believe how quickly your move has come round. We moved 2 years ago and I still remember the stress of it (and excitement too). I’m not surprised you’ve not done anything creative. Love made and that bed. I already listen to the podcasts you’ve mentioned. So inspiring. All the best with the house move.

I loved your post about podcasts, I’m just starting to get into them too, I know only about 20 years too late! I love this linky, thanks for hosting, I’m looking forward to linking up and reading these posts every week.

Gorgeous pics from Little Loves this week Morgana and thanks so much for sharing my post – I hadn’t realised! That gin looks incredible – I really think you’ll be needing more of those during your house move. My husband is hooked on ‘The Island’ so yes, I’ve been watching that but not loving it particularly myself. I hate all the arguing! Really like the sound of that book. I’ve been struggling to find the time or concentration span for reading of late. xx
