We’ve enjoyed (and survived!) the first week of the school holidays! I’ve loved spending some quality time with the girls and taking a bit of a break from working, but I definitely need to make time for a bit more work next week as it’s mounting up. Check out my post on the school holiday juggle for some great tips on this, ones that I need to try myself!
Here we go then, are you ready for some positivity? Grab a cuppa and enjoy my Little Loves, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.
Um.. very little! I’m still enjoying Jen Hatmaker’s Interrupted but only managing to get through a few pages every now and again. It’s one of those books that really challenges you and has the potential to be life changing, so I’m trying to read it slowly and take it in rather than whizz through it like a story.
Last Friday the girls had their last day of school and as they finished early we raced down to the cinema and watched the much anticipated, Despicable Me 3. It was such a treat full of sweets and popcorn, and a great to celebrate the end of term together.
I’ve done a whole lot of watching my girls cycle round the cul de sac. I think we need to buy a bench to permanently live at the front of the house so I’m not hauling a chair in and out or rooting around for the camping chairs in the garage. It’s been a lovely way to get to know some of the neighbours in the evenings while we’re sat out watching the children.
The strawberry flan! I made another one, just because they are so easy and super yummy. I made sure I got at least one photo this time.
While we were in Liverpool at the weekend we ‘made’ a trip to a vegetarian and vegan restaurant mentioned recently by Hayley, Down The Hatch. It’s all about junk food for vegans so we were all over it. N and I are never able to get puddings when we’re out at restaurants as they always have dairy or eggs in, so we jumped at the chance to get chocolate fudge cake and ice cream!
On Friday the mister and I went to a formal dinner that our church put on as a thank you to those that volunteer. It was such a fun night and a great chance to get to know some more people. We’ve only been there since January and it’s such a big church there’s still so many people we’re yet to meet. Of course, I failed (again!) to get a decent photo of my dress, though you might have spied my outfit on Instagram Stories. I wore my new shoes from Next that arrived just in time! I love them.
We went to Liverpool and visited the British Music Experience on Saturday, it was so much fun. I enjoyed taking a trip down memory lane and listening to the music of my childhood and teen years. Sharing songs, and showing the girls memorabilia from different bands and artists was so special.
I’ve decided that with it being the school holidays and massively juggling everything I’ll be taking a little break from Little Loves for the next few weeks. The next Little Loves link up will be in a months time on August 25th, don’t worry it will be back on weekly from then onwards.
If you’re on Instagram and want to join in with the Little Loves community on there, it’s so easy just use the hashtag #littleloves on any photo that shows something little that you love – so that can be pretty much anything! I’ll share my favourites on Stories each Friday.

Don’t forget to show some love to the fellow bloggers sharing the little things that they’ve loved this week, by having a read and commenting on their posts too – especially if you’ve linked up a post. Be sure to use the hashtag #littleloves if you’re on twitter so we can all keep an eye out for the posts and promote each others.
