Copper ombre hair, my new favourite for 2017

Up until last year I’ve always had my natural hair colour, and then when I spotted some greys I started dying it a slightly darker brown. I’ve had many, many hair styles and lengths over the years but never experimented with colour. Then last year I dared to get blonde on the ends, and then pastel pink! The pink didn’t last long unfortunately and I found myself wondering what to do next. My hairdresser mentioned copper ombre to me and after a browse on Pinterest and a few weeks of deliberation I decided to give it a go.

These are the styles I spotted on Pinterest and sent over to my hair dresser..

You can see my full Pinterest board below, honestly how did we do anything before Pinterest came along?

Of course I had some nerves when the day of the change came around but I knew I was in good hands and let my hair dresser do her thing.

Here’s my hair before with the blonde ends

and after

Unfortunately the colour doesn’t last long and I’ve already had to have one top up, I am so happy with the colour though and I’m really pleased I decided to go for it. As you can see it’s more of a red than a copper but that’s because I’ve just had my top up colour and we all know it won’t look this bright after it’s been washed! I’ll be sure to add in some photos after I’ve washed it so you can see the copper.

I’m so pleased that my lovely hair dresser suggested this change as it feels more me than the blonde bits ever did. The copper really warms up my brown hair and suits my complexion – thankfully! I’ve had to up the bronzer, but that’s no bother thanks to one of my Christmas presents, Hoola by Benefit (which I love).

What do you think?

Do you have any tips or even ‘must have’ products for protecting your colour?

Love! I’ve had so many hair colours over the years, including tones like this and goodness aren’t they high maintenance with the up keep?! They’re so gorgeous but my hair anyway tends to fade rapidly!

I’m at the stage now where my hair is in need of a cut as it’s been a year, it’s the longest it’s ever been bottom of my back almost!! And I need ideas… may go for a CHOP to shoulders but would I regret it? Haven’t had it that short since I was 8 lol

Anyway, I love stopping by your page! Love the photos too, was this from your photo walk? Xxx

Loving the new look. I have the Hoola bronzer too. I really like it, not too orange ! I had to start dying my hair last year too. Sad times. X x

I think it looks fabulous, it’s a gorgeous colour 🙂 I’m another one who’s never dyed; so far the greys have been few and far between but I know the decision on colour isn’t far off!

Aww your hair looks lovely, have you tried using the Bleach London shampoos they are great for maintaining colour like this. I don’t know if they do a copper one x

It looks so good in photos, in person, I love it!!! It suits you and it perfect on trend girl as always the fashionista. When I saw you I was so jealous I couldn’t pull something like that off ever. I did recently chop some off and I am regretting it. OOOps. It’s definitely a favorite of mine on you girl. #WRC

I love this on you!! I’m way to chicken to try anything different! It took me 15years to just cut my hair above the shoulder! xx

It’s funny!!!! My hairdresser has suggested that I get a balayage on my hair, with lighter ends. It’s not until you mentioned it that I even noticed yours is like that!! Makes me feel much happier about it now!! LOL!! Particularly as she’s coming next week to do it!!!! Weeeeeeee!! New hair!! I’m so excited!! 🙂

PS — love the red ends!! Even more than copper!!

I love your hair like this, the colour really suits you. Such a shame it doesn’t last long, I have to have mine coloured every 7 weeks or so to hide the greys. Getting older is rubbish! xx
