Altrincham Market, butterfly buns and A Wrinkle In Time #LittleLoves

This has to have been the fastest week ever. I’ve found it so hard to write this post as I can hardly think what I’ve done each day! I do remember last Saturday though, we had a great time exploring in Altrincham, especially Altrincham Market. It was a foodie’s paradise. We feasted on sourdough pizza and Oreo vegan brownies, and came home with a fresh sourdough loaf and more dairy free and egg free treats. We will definitely be going again!

This week has seen the beginning of the Easter holidays for my girls and oh boy, were they ready for them. From 1.15 on Tuesday they’ve been loving the down time and freedom.

So, here we go lets get onto those wonderful little things from this week, grab a cuppa (or a glass, depending on the time of day..!) and have a read.

  read

The Mermaid and Mrs Hancock

Still struggling to find the time to get into this book to be honest. The bits I’ve read I’ve enjoyed but to be honest, I keep forgetting to pick it up.

Blogs and articles

With it being the start of the holidays I’ve been really busy and not had much time for blog reading, I did love this one though!

Five Favourites: Nineties Icons – Modern Mummy

I love a little nostalgia, especially when it’s fashion and trend focused. This post by Katy, definitely got me remembering the clothes and accessories that I wore in the 90s. Platform trainers, bubble backpacks and so much more!

watched

A Wrinkle In Time

I read A Wrinkle In Time when I was a child and adored it, the fantasy created by Madeliene L’Engle was spellbinding. When I found out it was being made into a film I was beyond excited, especially when they announced who they had on board with it. The girls had a half day on Tuesday and we continued out little tradition of a a cinema trip after I picked them up. I’m not going to say I didn’t like the film but I was a little disappointed with it. While parts were incredible overall it just didn’t quite come together. It has made me want to re-read the book though!

The Santa Clarita Diet

The Santa Clarita Diet is back on Netflix with a second season. It’s just as silly as the first one, and so enjoyable! The perfect easy watch after a busy day.

MAde

My littlest girl has expressed an interest in doing more baking so I let her loose (while I kept a watchful eye) and she made these beauties!

butterfly buns I have a feeling she’ll be doing a lot more baking from now on!

With the lovely sunshine we had at the start of the week I cracked out these bad boys.

I only wish the sunshine and warmer weather had decided to stick around a little longer.

heard

Music

Everything Everything have been a favourite of mine for ages now and they don’t disappoint with their latest release

Alternative 00s

LOVED having this as my working soundtrack this week.

and lastly

We’re not going away this Easter but we are taking the long weekend off work and plan to have lots of quality family time. Enjoy your Easter Bank Holiday weekend in whichever way you choose to celebrate and spend it.

Have a fantastic Easter weekend!

I used to visit Altrincham loads growing up, shopping with my Nan. There’s a similar market in Knutsford the first Sunday of each month that you might like too. I’ve heard mixed reviews of the wrinkle in time film, I’ve never read the book but have heard good things. Have a lovely Easter weekend x

I freaking love Drew Barrymore and really need to find some time for this show – and her latest book. Looks like you’ve got a talented little baker on your hands ❤

I love the sound of Santa Clarita’s Diet, I’ve not heard of it before. I know exactly what you mean about forgetting what you’ve done and enjoyed and that’s why I love Little Loves! Joining in only once a month forces me to jot down the lovely moments otherwise they would definitely be out of my head by the end of the month lol! Have a lovely easter break as a family. We are pretty much doing the same. xx

I just love the front cover of that book! The kids really want to see A Wrinkle in Time, I didn’t realise it was a book. Happy Easter

Those brownies look unreal! I’ve never read A Wrinkle in Time, I must admit the casting is probably more fabulous than I expect the film itself to be. I didn’t realise there was a new series of Santa Clarita Diet, I loved the first one. Have a lovely chilled weekend with your girls x

Hello where have I been? I had no idea that a Wrinkle in Time was actually a book. I have seen the trailer for the film so many times but still haven’t decided if I fancy seeing it yet. I am sure the children will be the deciding factor. Hope you have a lovely weekend xx

Those Oreo brownies look amazing! We are looking forward to seeing a Wrinkle In Time at the cinema over the holidays. We haven’t read the book so don’t have anything to compare the footage to.

I keep hearing great things about Alty market! I really need to get there. No excuse really as I work closeish and the in-laws live in Alty!
I love a good retro list and the 90s were the best times!
    Your girl’s cakes look amazing!

Oh my goodness, those shoes are amazing. I really want to see A wrinkle in time, will have to read the book too x

  • Chloe: Picture Taker Memory Maker - April 2, 2018 reply

My girls and I really want to see A Wrinkle In Time but our local cinema closed down last Autumn and the new one isn’t due to open until the summer so any trip to the cinema is essentially a full day trip now, which sucks. Altrincham Market looks and sounds really cool – might have to make the journey up there for something different to do one weekend. And those butterfly cakes look yummy – I used to make them all the time with my Mum when I was a little girl. Your daughter is a natural!

  • traceycwilliams - April 3, 2018 reply

I loved the look of Altrincham Market ever since Kerri Ann went a few weeks ago, must try and get there one weekend. I didn’t realise A Wrinkle in Time had been a book as I have never heard of it before. Katie went a few weeks ago with her friends but I don’t think she was too keen on it. The cakes your youngest made look fab, well done to her x

  • Laura@dearbearandbean - April 5, 2018 reply
