Back to school, Spiderman and Rising Strong #littleloves

This week has been all about getting back into routine with school and work. As much as we loved the summer I do enjoy September, it’s like a fresh start, for me more so than January is. We’ve been finding our feet over the last few days and I’m hoping to be more organised and ‘on it’ next week onwards.

Here we go then, are you ready for some positivity? Grab a cuppa and enjoy my Little Loves, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.

RISING STRONG by Brene Brown*

I’m only a few chapters in and I already feel like this book is going to be a huge game changer for me.

A Minimalist Autumn /  Fall Capsule Wardrobe – Jessica Rose Williams

I discovered this blog post when I joined in with the Blogtacular twitter chat one night this week. I love it when you find new people of twitter, and then go and find their other social media channels. With a love of biscuits, minimalism and black clothing it seems Jessica Rose and I have a whole lot in common 😉

21 Undeniable Signs That You’re An INFJ Personality Type – Introvert Dear

A while back I did a personality test and found out I was an INFJ. Have any of you taken the test? I’d love to know what you are. You can take the test here if you’re interested. I stumbled across this article and found myself nodding along with all of it. It’s so weird reading a description of yourself online!

Last Friday my youngest girl went away over night with one of her friend and her family so the biggest girl and I took the opportunity to got the cinema and catch a film that we wouldn’t be able to see if we had the six year old in tow. Thankfully we managed to catch Spiderman Homecoming before it left the big screen and oh boy, are we both glad that we did. My nine year old loves all the Marvel films and usually watches them with her dad, they aren’t all my cup of tea so I was crossing my fingers that I’d enjoy this one. I think I can safely say it’s my favourite of the whole Spiderman series of films and various incarnations. British actor, Tom Holland is perfect as the adolescent Spiderman, there are plenty of laughs and jump in your seat moment, all in all a great watch.

After a two year absence Suranne Jones is back on our screens as Dr Foster, and oh boy, what a cracker of a first episode. Her ex husband makes my blood boil and unsurprisingly Dr Foster is drawn back into battle with him as their son Tom (bizarrely) makes the move into his dad’s new house.

Aside from the big and little screen I also watched my two girls go back to school this week. This is the last year I’ll have a child in the infants (!), I’m not sure when they got so big.

I’ve been busy pinning lots of tattoo ideas to my Pinterest board as I’m already feeling the pull to get a new one! So I’m trying to make the decision of what to get next and where. I’m thinking the back of my arm just above the elbow, but we shall see.

I’m busy making lots of decisions about this blog and the content for the next three months. I’m wanting to do a few series on specific topics rather than just random posts that fit in my categories. Of course this all requires me to be not only good at making plans but also seeing them through! Watch this space I guess! It’s all a bit like this at the moment..

My poor neglected hair has had a treat and revamp this week, bye bye ginger/blonde, hello all over dark chocolate brown.

My clothing hasn’t been very inspired, don’t hate me but I must admit I’m enjoying putting away my summer clothes and digging out my boots and sweaters! Autumn is my very favourite time of year… I only wish it wasn’t quite so rainy.

Sara Tasker is back with a new Hashtag Authentic podcast and this one features Tara Mohr, as with all Sara’s podcasts is definitely worth having a listen.

Music wise I’ve been enjoying lots of different bands and artists, including Bon Iver, Laura Marling, Arcade Fire and The Staves. This Autumn playlist on Spotify is pretty chill too, it does have few tracks that I skip though, I mean Niall Horan?!

and lastly

I don’t know about you but I am looking forward to a long lazy Saturday morning

I’ve seen everyone talking about Dr Foster this week, and I feel like I’m really missing out! I think I’ll have to see if series one is available anywhere. My husband got two new tattoos this week, i don’t think he’ll ever persuade me to get one haha.. I’m such a wimp! Xx

  3. September 8, 2017 / 7:50 am

The first time I did the Myers Briggs test, I was an ESTJ, I’ve just done it again and I’m now an ESFJ! I think sometimes circumstances change the way you are as a person and I’m probably more of a ‘feeler’ now than a ‘thinker’. Interesting! I think your hair looks stunning – perfect for Autumn/Winter. The darker colour really suits you 🙂 And Dr Foster? So exciting! Really can’t wait for the next episode. xx

  5. September 8, 2017 / 11:02 am

I love your new hair! You can’t beat chocolate brown! I’m excited to be back linking up with Little Loves!

  6. September 8, 2017 / 11:31 am

Ooh I’m off to check out the personality test. I’m holding off putting my summer clothes away. I have to force myself to like Autumn. Good luck with your new blog plans I’ve been doing lots of planning too. Eilidh x

Oh, you’ve just reminded me I need to catch up on the new series of Dr Foster. It totally escaped me until yesterday that it had started again! I like the look of the Brene Brown book, I heard her being interviewed on a podcast not so long ago and I thought her work sounded fab. Hope you have a lovely weekend x

  8. September 8, 2017 / 12:47 pm

Oh babes I LOVE YOUR dark hair it looks stunning! Wow what a great color for fall/winter. I need to do something different with mine but everytime I do it bites me in the butt. hahaha Can’t wait to catch up next week. Feels like way too long. Sounds like you have made the most of summer time though amazing. Back to school and back to work for us. Look forward to some work days together too!

  9. September 8, 2017 / 5:25 pm

We are always so behind when it comes to what everyone else is watching on tv, I really must see if I can watch the first series of Dr Foster. Love your new hair colour and I know what you mean about September being a new start. Though it does take me a few weeks to get in the swing of the new routine. Hope you get your lazy Saturday x

  10. September 8, 2017 / 6:27 pm

Ooh, I just did the test – I’m a mediator, apparently! I loved the first episode of Dr F – loved the first series (even if it was hard to watch at times!). I would love to get my first tattoo but I have no idea where to even start!

  11. September 8, 2017 / 7:35 pm

I still need to watch series 1 of doctor Foster which I’ve just downloaded. Love your new hair. I enjoy autumn too (when it’s not consyantly raining) but it feels early. I’m not ready to give up on summer yet.

  12. September 8, 2017 / 9:51 pm

I feel the same about September being the start of a new year, especially after 18 years in education and five working at a university. I totally missed Spiderman in the cinema so I’m waiting for the bluray now. Loving the new do too! <3

  13. September 8, 2017 / 10:07 pm

Loving the new locks, your new hair colour looks fabulous!

  14. September 9, 2017 / 10:39 am

Hope you’re enjoying a lazy Saturday morning! My lazy Saturday consists of listening to Sara’s podcast and reading all the #littleloves posts – pretty much what I’m doing now! That book sounds brilliant, have just added it to my wishlist. Love your hair! I could be an autumn person – once I buy a load of jumpers and boots. I’m so unprepared for it being so cold here, I only own one jumper thanks to living abroad for so long – I’m gonna freeze! Have a great week x

  15. September 11, 2017 / 11:28 am

So glad Little Loves is back-this post is my weekly blog inspiration when I’ve been fumbling along. Hope you had a great summer. Yes I’ve done the personailty test and am an ENFP-T (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Prospecting and Turbulant apparently I’m a diplomat) Its scary how accurate it all is though. I feel like I am certainly missing out with Dr Foster-think I might have to play catch up. Tattoos do have a tendancy to drag you in. Ive got two and am always looking out for a new possible design. Completely agree with your little creativity quote, Im hoping once I get settled into this routine a bit more, I’ll be able to get writing a bit more on my blog too. Can’t wait to read some of your new ideas x

  16. September 11, 2017 / 9:01 pm

I am totally embracing sweaters too, but need to do a bit of a winter wardrobe shop! I loved to new Spiderman too its fab and I love your hair I hate mine at the moment so am having a bit of a hair crisis which is never good x

  17. September 13, 2017 / 10:40 pm

I hope you’ve found your rhythm this week- back to school is so difficult, the added whammy of how exhausted everyone is on the first week makes for so many more tantrums in our house.
I’m loving your hair! I was talking to my hairdresser about going back to one colour, but I keep on flitting to liking being lighter- oh the dilemmas. Which is the same with tattoos! I have one on my bucket list for this year, and I know what I want ‘ish’. Fortunately my brother is a tattooist so it really is just a case of being decisive!!

  18. September 14, 2017 / 8:31 pm

I’ve wanted a new tattoo for a while now, something to represent Olivia but i just can’t decide on a design or were i want. Hope you have had another good week.

  19. September 14, 2017 / 10:07 pm

I loved hashtag authentic last time I listened on your recommendation so will check it out again. I think I’m the only person not watching Dr Foster, we didn’t see the last series either! x #LittleLoves
