Evacuees, Gilmore Girls and rainy days #LittleLoves

I’m going to do that annoying cliche thing and say that I can’t believe where the week has gone! But it’s true, it really did go fast. Well, enough of that let’s move on to those little things I’ve loved on this, very fast, week.

I love my friends, especially the ones that give me books! 😉 Thanks Jenny for lending me Strictly Between Us by Jane Fallon. I know lots of my Little Loves linker uppers have read it and recommend it so I’m excited to get stuck in. So far I’ve only managed a couple of chapters, I look forward to reading more over the weekend.

Grabbing a bit of me time to read while at David Lloyd last Sunday

As there is nothing on TV at the moment, thanks to the football, I’ve been sticking to Netflix and films.

Confession time. I am completely obsessed with Gilmore Girls! From chatting to lots of people via my Facebook Page it seems I’m not alone in this appreciation or should I say, addiction! I missed it the first time around so when all the seasons popped up on Netflix recently I knew I had to give them a try. It’s funny when it first aired in 2000 I would have been the same age as the daughter Rory whereas now I’m the same age as her mum (!!) It brings a funny dynamic to the who viewing experience I can tell you.

As for films we rented The Revenant last weekend, you know the one that got Leonardo DiCaprio that long awaited Oscar? I was an intense film and graphically violent at times (yes, I did the girl thing of grimacing while half watching between my fingers) but wow, what a film. The acting, the story, the scenery, all added up to make it a truly epic film.

Moving on to something completely different.. E is really taken with Kate and Mim Mim, an animated series that’s new to Netflix. She’s even got a cuddly Mim Mim that sits with her while she watches it. A big thanks to the UK Netflix team for sending it over.

It’s a busy time at my girls’ school at the moment. We had Roman Day for N last week and this week we’ve got World War 2 Day. The whole school dressed up, with all the children coming in dressed as evacuees. We put the costumes together with clothes we already had and then I made the ‘gas mask boxes’.  I think we did ok, don’t you?

Not only have we had World War 2 Day this week, E has also had her class trip to the zoo. She was SO excited for this and was awake from about 4am that day (!!), she wass ridiculously excited about the whole thing. Unfortunately it chucked it down on the way to school, though it was dry at the zoo, thankfully.

E is wearing her yellow mac from Marks and Spencer, Urban Junk Mini BAM backpack from Little and Fierce Kids and her frog umbrella is by Kidorable

I cannot get this song out of my head!! Tell me I’m not alone in this. It’s just too catchy!

My girls were like “Justin Timba who?!” Honestly? Who dragged these kids up? 😉

and lastly

I’ve been heard at work over on my other baby Little and Fierce this week as yesterday I launched our Little Fierce Summer Sale. Do head on over and take a look, there’s lots of cute summer accessories just waiting to be snapped up!

Those costumes are great. Love the yellow mac and frog umbrella. I’m reading strictly between us too. Can’t wait to hear what you think. I picked it out because of a recommendation in a little loves post. It will take me months though to read it no doubt (I bought it at the end of April).
