Half term, juggling and living in pyjamas #LittleLoves

Half term, juggling and living in pyjamas #LittleLoves

What a lovely, but juggly, week! I love the ease of the school holidays with no school runs, the bit I’m not so fond of is trying to fit in work, of which I’ve only managed to do the bare minimum. Add to all that trying to decorate our house and you get an idea of the week I’ve had! There’s not many photos in this week’s post, partly because we’ve been busy and also it’s down to not wanting to be on my phone or holding a camera while the girls are off. They are bigger now and not huge fans of having their photo taken. Thankfully there’s lots of lovely moments to draw from for this week’s Little Loves round up, photos or no photos.

I’m massively failing at this category at the moment, which is so unusual for me. I’m still reading The Muse and although I’m enjoying it, I wouldn’t say it has me hooked.

E came home from school on Friday with a Valentines Card she’d made, it really did make me chuckle.

The new edition of Elle arrived through my door yesterday, so I’m hoping to have a few minutes peace over the weekend to enjoy flicking through it.

I finally watched The Girl on the Train over the weekend. I’d read the book a while back and although I remember the main plot points I couldn’t remember the detail and so because of that I actually really liked it, compared to many other book adaptations that get my blood boiling that is!

I pre-ordered Trolls for the girls and they were super excited when it dropped through our letter box on Monday. I’d arranged a couple of their friends to come over for a sleepover that night so of course they all sat together and watched it while eating junk food that evening.

A few of the bloggers that link up below have mentioned that the new season of Scandal is on  so I’m trying to catch up on the previous season so I can get back up to date. Scandal used to be one of our favourite programmes but I think the last time it was on we just didn’t have the time to keep up with it.

Last night while N and her daddy were at training, the littlest and I enjoyed a bedtime story courtesy of Mr Tom Hardy. Did you watch it?

We’ve been trying to juggle looking after the girls, decorating the house and my work all week so on Wednesday we declared it family day and made an effort to get out of the house and have some fun!

A Clip N Climb centre has just opened up near us so we booked in for the morning and had loads of fun there. My girls are way more adventurous and fearless than I ever was when I was a child. I loved seeing them trying everything and getting to the top of a lot of the climbing walls. As I was climbing as well I didn’t get any photos, but we’ll definitely be back there again.. though I might stay up in the cafe instead..! We had lunch out and then braved Clarks for new school shoes. N was very disappointed that her feet hadn’t grown so didn’t need any new shoes, of course I felt the opposite! E’s grown half a size since September, bringing her to a 13 and a half – at 6 years old!!

It’s a shame I’ve got no photos to show from this day but I was under strict instruction to keep it a family day so no photos or social media, I did sneak a video up on FB from the Clip N Climb though.

Jamas! The best thing about school holidays in my opinion is lazy mornings. No rushing around to get out of the door at half past eight each day. We can stay in our jamas as long as we like.

Now, I’m normally I band tour tshirt and random jama bottoms kind of girl but I spotted these in New Look the other day and impulse bought them (yes, I’m a bit New Look obsessed at the moment..)

They are so comfortable and flattering, and I love the lace detail at the back.

I don’t really get a say in what my girls wear now, and E can put together some rather, um, eclectic looks, but I love what she wore to the park the other day.

The girls uncovered a CD that I did vocals on many years ago and thought it was the best thing ever! I was just finishing my gap year and recorded for a Scripture Union kids CD, don’t worry I won’t be subjecting you to it. It’s cringe worthy enough hearing it myself! Instead I’ll share some other bits of music I’ve been enjoying..

A couple of weeks ago Fritha mentioned in her Little Loves vlog that she’d been listening to Fiona Apple. Like Fritha I’d always been aware of Fiona Apple and thought I’d probably like her but never really took the time to listen. I thought it was about the time I changed that and I’ve been loving listening to her music on Spotify ever since!

I’ve rediscovered my love for The Civil Wars too! Oh the beautiful harmonies, so sad that they don’t make music together any more.

What a fantastic week you’ve had, we have a climbing wall near to us but we’ve never ventured over. I think we’ll change that as it sounds so much fun. Those pjs are so pretty and I love the jumper and floral skirt combo! X

  2. February 17, 2017 / 7:22 am

Those PJs are adorable. They definitely beat my random bottoms and T-Shirt mix 😀

Amy is also a 13.5 and she’ll be 6 in April. I hope the poor child hasn’t got my Big Foot gene as I’m a size 9 and it really isn’t fun. Have a great weekend and enjoy the last days of halfterm x

  3. February 17, 2017 / 7:34 am

  4. February 17, 2017 / 7:41 am

    Such a funny card!
I’m also wondering when Lily will want to be left out of photos as she gets older. Her life to date is on video camera on Youtube from the age of 18 weeks :s
I’d like to watch the Girl on the Train movie, but I haven’t heard great things about it from those who loved the book.
Those pjs look great! I saw some nice jamas from the immense New look queue a while a go but didn’t leave my space haha!

  6. February 17, 2017 / 8:09 am

It sounds like you’ve had a busy, but lovely week at the same time – glad to hear you all enjoyed the half term. Love the new pjs, and E’s park outfit! Have a great weekend!

  7. February 17, 2017 / 8:14 am

Sounds like you’ve had a busy week! It must have been nice to have a phone-free day with your family. Those pyjamas are nice, but I do like a good ol’ comfy t-shirt and bottoms. Enjoy your week xx

  8. February 17, 2017 / 9:14 am

Loving your family no photos camera day. Sometimes those are so needed and even though you didn’t get photos of it you have those amazing memories in your heart. It’s nice to just shut off sometimes for ourselves too. Good for you. Loving those pjs I might have to run out and get me a pair. So lush. I know what you mean with half term chill out but trying to get work done at the same time isn’t the easiest at all. I have done nothing work wise this week *hidesheadlow EEEK. Oh I must check this climbing place out for us too. Wonder if MM is too small she loves to climb though. My two are fearless too. I shall sit in cafe with you next time hahaha Hope to catch up soon beautiful. xo #littleloves

  9. February 17, 2017 / 9:17 am

It sounds like you have had a busy, productive but relaxing half term. I dread the day my two don’t want their photo taken anymore I love having the memories on film. New look have so many nice things this season, their home range is gorgeous too. I dragged my poorly self out of bed on Tuesday evening to catch Mr Hardy on Cbeebies I don’t think my hubby was too impressed ! Have a lovely weekend.

  10. February 17, 2017 / 10:34 am

I tried to get to the Clip n Climb this week but just couldn’t fit it in, the pictures on the website look amazing and it sounds like a lot of fun. Not sure I’d be brave enough to actual climb though (just watch my kids do it instead ha!)

I’m with you on the half term and juggling, I haven’t managed to get anything done really so Monday will be lots of coffee and plenty of catch up.

Glad you’ve had a good week over all though 🙂

  11. February 17, 2017 / 11:19 am

Sounds like you’ve had a fab but hectic week. It’s nice to just enjoy a day out for what it is rather than seeing it through the lens of a camera isn’t it. Love those pjs. Looks like we’re all heading to New Look to get some for ourselves! Have a great weekend x

  12. February 17, 2017 / 1:59 pm

I love Fiona Apple. I am off to listen again, thanks.

  13. February 17, 2017 / 3:19 pm

The Clip n Climb centre sounds amazing, I’ve not heard of them before! Also, that nightwear is so lovely 🙂 #LittleLoves

Tom Hardy though… year made! Looks like a lovely half term #LittleLoves

  15. February 17, 2017 / 8:35 pm

Love the sound of your family day with no photos and social media. What a funny valentines card and i love the new look pj’s.

  16. February 17, 2017 / 10:48 pm

Oh that card is sooo sweet, our daughters also share a name!

  17. February 18, 2017 / 4:20 pm

I know what you mean Morgana work is a nightmare in the holidays. I’ve had a few days of rehearsals and performances that I’ve had to get out too but considering I’ve been on maternity leave I’ve actually enjoyed being there. Admin and blogging has gone out the window though. We’ve literally just this minute watched trolls and we loved it. Sounds like a lovely week despite the craziness & hope the decorating has gone well the last few days x

  18. February 18, 2017 / 10:53 pm

I love New Look – the clothes always fit me and are so affordable. Those PJs look lovely! I have been putting off watching Girl on the Train as I was worried it wouldn’t be as good as the book – I’ll give it a go now! x

  19. February 19, 2017 / 3:51 pm

Those pyjamas are gorgeous and definitely putting my bed wear to shame lol. I love the idea of no phones whilst on a family day, and something I need to do more of. My teen doesn’t like appearing on my blog anymore, but my 11 year old is still happy to pose for pictures. Though I do wonder how much longer she will be happy to appear on my blog. Hope you manage to get some work done now that half term is over x

  20. February 19, 2017 / 9:18 pm

Loving the lace and E’s outfit. Thanks for hosting #littleloves

  21. February 19, 2017 / 9:41 pm

What a busy but lovely week. The clip n climb centre sounds like a lot of fun. I wish we had something like that near to us. I love your pjs, they’re gorgeous. New Look have some really lovely stuff in at the moment. I love E’s outfit! It’s so cute seeing what things they want to wear. It really shows their personality off. x

  22. February 19, 2017 / 10:39 pm

I really want to watch the girl on the train, it’s been on my list for ages! And I love her look, I totally wish I could get away with that now!

  23. February 20, 2017 / 7:58 am

We practically lived in PJs over half term too – if you can’t during the holidays when can you! That Valentine’s Day card is brilliant, I cannot wait until my two bring something like that home (although I’m very sure they’ll all be aimed at Daddy). Hope you have a lovely week xx

  24. February 23, 2017 / 8:38 pm

Ooh I love the pj’s, might have to treat myself to a pair! How cute is that valentines card! Well done for not taking any photos I need to do this more often x
