Listening to Nothing But Thieves and getting ready for Autumn #LittleLoves

Week two of back to school and I think we’re into a kind of routine again now. The humongous notice board that I’ve put up in the kitchen for all things child related (school letters, party invites, after-school stuff, homework, and the list goes on..) is definitely helping the transition or at least is giving me the illusion of being organised. I’m very happy with the ever nearing season change, Autumn for the win every time.

Here we go then, are you ready for some positivity? Grab a cuppa and enjoy my Little Loves, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.

I’ve hardly even picked up a book this week, how bad is that?  I’ve found myself sinking into the sofa and watching TV in the evenings instead. I really must get back into the habit of going to bed a little earlier and reading. I’m hoping to get further into this one, The Keeper of Lost Things, after hearing so many good things about it.

Blog posts wise I’ve read a few this week that I’ve enjoyed and been inspired by,

What’s The Right Balance Between Personal and Professional Online? -Simple and Season

I came across this post in a Facebook group I’m part of and fell in love, of course I clicked to follow it on bloglovin straight away and have been enjoying reading through older posts. This post in particular is really helpful in getting you to think about you brand and how you portray yourself online. A great read for any fellow professional blogger or business owners.

Branding Revamp Mood Board // A Consolidation of A Rose Cast’s Look and Feel – A Rose Cast

I found this one in the same group, and loved the use of colour and the way the brand identity has been thought through. I did mine for this blog and my business, Little and Fierce, a while ago and it’s inspired me to do it again and have a bit of a refocus and refresh.

Autumn and Winter Positivity List – Lilypad and Bow

I am a huge Autumn fan, I wonder if there is a specific word to describe someone like me that adores Autumn so much, there must be right? Anyway Abbie, over at Lilypad and Bow is a huge Autumn fan too and in this blog post she shares her favourite things about this time of year.

watched

I was ill over the weekend, the cough that I’d been ignoring refused to shift and ended up exhausting me. Boo. I managed to spend a little time in bed and got to watch the two seasons UnReal on Amazon. It’s perfect binge watching fodder and had me (and subsequently my husband) completely hooked. It’s a kind of behind the scenes of a fictional production company that does a series called Everlasting – think The Bachelor – and it is probably one of the most cynical things I’ve ever watched and full of incredible one liners. Definitely worth a look if you like your TV with a bit of a dark humour edge.

MAde

I made super delicious tacos this week from The Big Family Cooking Show Down cook book that I was kindly sent over by the publishers. I’ll definitely be making them again, especially with them being a hit with all four of us.

I’ve got two copies of the cook book to give away so click the picture below to enter.

As usual I’ve made a whole lot of coffee to keep me going during the working day.  Huge thanks to Strangers Coffee for sending over some coffee beans to try out.

This week has been all about swapping summer dresses for big chunky knits and so you know what, I couldn’t be happier! Autumn is hands down my favourite season, I love nothing more than jumping in crunchy leaves, the cosy nights in and snuggly clothes that come with this change of season.

heard

I’m going to be sharing the Hashtag Authentic podcast here again, purely because I think this week’s with Sas Petherick is the best one yet.

Music wise I’ve listened to Nothing But Thieves new album on repeat, every day! It is absolute perfection and I’m desperate for gig tickets to see them on their next tour.

This is the stripped back version of their song, Sorry.

Check out the whole album here

and lastly

It’s my 30 somethingth birthday on Sunday and I’m looking forward to having some chilled out family time. Apparently we’ve got secret plans for the actual day so I’ll be sure to share what we got up to in next weeks littleloves post.

If you’re on Instagram and want to join in with the Little Loves community on there, it’s so easy just use the hashtag #littleloves on any photo that shows something little that you love – so that can be pretty much anything! I’ll share my favourites on Stories each Friday.

Oh those tacos look lovely! I love your jumper but am not quite feeling reading for Autumn yet, I think its the darker mornings making getting up and out for work a bit harder. The Keeper of Lost Things is on my list to pick up next time I’m at the library. I hope you have a really lovely birthday on Sunday, I’m excited to see what you get up to! #LittleLoves

I’ve included the Hashtag Authentic interview in my post too, it was brilliant wasn’t it, it really made me stop and think. Autumn is such a wonderful time of year, I think I love it more than Christmas. Those tacos look delicious, I will definitely pop over and enter the giveaway. Have a lovely weekend x

I too love chunky knits, autumn wear is so awesome although we are still in that position where we never quite know whether it’ll be teeshirts or jumpers from one day to the next!

  • Molly - September 16, 2017 reply

Happy birthday for tomorrow! I need to invest in some new chunky knits this autumn – my autumn wardrobe is feeling very unloved this year!

Love that sweater. It’s all the rage that color burgundy/plum. I said to a mom the other day this year’s trend is my kid’s school colors so they uniforms and casual clothes all are the same EEEK. I just bought that book Keep of Lost Things I really need to check before buying see if you have the same book we could share. hahaha Happy weekend #littleloves

Happy birthday! I hope you’ve had a wonderful day. I discovered Nothing But Thieves after your tweet- it’s been perfect for essay writing – absorbed whilst you don’t even notice- thank you for sharing! I don’t think I ever stopped wearing knits this year- but I am absolutely loving the autumnal weather as an excuse to start wearing winter coats- probably too early but better warm than not!

  • Emma Farley - September 18, 2017 reply

I’m all about those chunky knits and baggy sweaters <3 And I'm sooo behind on Hashtag Authentic. Have a fab birthday! 🙂
