Davina’s no sugar flapjacks, The Wrong Knickers and HAIM #littleloves

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves post!

Thank you to all the lovely bloggers who’ve joined in so far this year, I love reading all the posts and look forward to catching up with this week’s ones.

I mentioned last week that I picked up The Wrong Knickers by Bryony Gordon, well I’ve finished it already, I literally couldn’t put it down! It’s a great light read and is super funny, I really recommend it.

I mentioned on twitter how much I was loving the book and I may have fangirled a little when Bryony Gordon tweeted me back…!

We took the girls out for a drink last Friday night and whisked them off to the cinema to see Big Hero 6 the new Pixar film. We all absolutely loved it, one of the best kids films I’ve seen in a long time and a very welcome change from Frozen!

– The Secret Life of Four Year Olds

Knowing that a lot of my #littleloves linker uppers have small children I doubt I’ll be the only one to mention this programme. Having a four year old myself this was obviously essential viewing! It was fantastic to get a little insight into the way the children interact with one another at this age, especially without adults around. I’d love to be a fly on the wall at E’s preschool.

My eldest has been wearing a few bits from my shop recently – I swear I’m going to have to get a lock for my stock room!

Here she is wearing her Ryder L geek glasses and braces

I’ve been living in my Topshop ‘coatigan’ (thanks Em for the correct terminology 😉 ) this week. It’s just so cosy!

I’ve also been wearing my fantastic new all singing all dancing moisturiser from Green People – the full review will be up here on Sunday.

I’ve got a couple of great tracks to share with you this week, the first is Calvin Harris’ new one that features HAIM

and I couldn’t help share this cover of Taylor Swift’s Shake it Off by Charlie XCX, it definitely has some punk undertones and really reminds me of Karen O and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, I would imagine she’s a big influence of Charlie XCX. I know it’s a cover that has divided people, it’s bit like Marmite, if you know what I mean?

davina no sugar flapjacks

I found the recipe for Davina’s no sugar flapjacks and gave them a go, I can report they are super easy to make and really yummy. You can see the recipe for yourself here – Davina’s no sugar flapjacks Red Online

and lastly..

I’ve been thinking about giving vlogging ago and filming myself chatting about my Little Loves choices. What do you think? Is this something that you might watch? I’m so out of touch with the whole vlogging thing really!

I don’t know about you but I’m far too old for school girl politics and game playing, whether it’s online or in real life, so without further ado I’ll end with this week’s quote.

 Have a lovely weekend!

Oh do you know what, I was going to start vlogging and I was going to start of with a #littlelove as I really didn’t know how or where to start! haha… I watched the secret life of four year olds and at first I watched in horror but I eased into it and wished they were doing more episodes! very interesting.. Going to make the flapjacks, look yummy! x

Every week I love to read your little loves! I always feel mine are so repetitive (hello lattes) lol.

I love how you read a lot, I really want to make (or find) more time for myself as I love reading, but to also include getting lost in some fiction as well as my blogger guides/ parenting books! Ah gutted I miss that programme! Really wanted to watch it as my eldest is four, will have to get it in catch up. I also heard that version of Taylor swift! It’s exactly how you say, like marmite, I think it’s one if those songs where you have to be in that mood to enjoy, funky too! I use to love the song ‘date with the night’ by the “YYYeah’s”!

Those flapjacks -I need to try. I’m really trying to cut sugar at the minute, difficult though as I’m Breastfeeding, not eating enough or drinking enough so my body just craves crap! Or it thinks it needs it! I love flapjack…

I think vlogging would be ace! I wish I had the confidence (and amazing hair do like yours!) to do it.. Go for it my dear!! Love that quote too. X

Oh I’d love to see you vlogging! Do it, definitely! I tried once and uploaded it and immediately deleted it again 🙂 I’m so awkward on camera! I love watching other people though and think you’d be brilliant at it lovely! I love that quote at the end of your little loves. I feel this way too, absolutely. I’m maybe a bit naive, but I do generally try to see the best in people and encourage them too. I think you can suss very quickly who is genuine and who isn’t though, can’t you?! As always, I loved reading this M xx ps. Noo is my fashion icon! 🙂

I love the Calvin Harris tune, it’s very catchy. The glasses and braces Noo is wearing is ace. I’m going to check your stuff out for my girls.I do enjoy watching other people’s vlogs. I’m too akward in front of the camera myself (unless I’ve had a jar) but the ones I’ve seen have been really engaging. x

  • Karen - February 13, 2015 reply

That quote at the end?? I absolutely love it! I will be trying out those flapjacks too, we love a flapjack around here and ones with less sugar would definitely be a good thing 🙂

I’d love to see your vlog Morgana, I am awful so could never do one myself! And I love that quote! xx

  • Esther @ Inside Out and About - February 13, 2015 reply

If the thought of vlogging doesn’t terrify you then do it! I know it’s definitely not for me, but I do enjoy watching them. How cool does your eldest look? Seriously. I would definitely raid my Mum’s stock if she owned a shop! I love that quote and I definitely have a thing for genuine people! Happy weekend! x

  • Mel @mydaysni - February 13, 2015 reply

Ah yes, genuine people are sometimes harder to find than expected. Vlog if you want to I say. Whatever makes you happy and all that! Hope you have a fab weekend xx

  • Vikki Holness - February 13, 2015 reply

Honestly, i’ve been loving the items your shop stocks. Already got my eye on some geek glasses and a unicorn necklace. Oh and the bow tie as you well know! I have that programme saved on the planner ready to watch this evening when boys are in bed, i find documentaries like that fascinating and know i’m in for a laugh after reading everyone’s posts/comments this week! Have a lovely weekend babe and thank you for hosting! xxx #LittleLoves

You should definitely give the vlogging a go. I love it (as does my son!). I find it rather time consuming… filming the video and then all the editing, but the more I vlog, the more I learn and the quicker it gets!

  • A Cosy Cup of Life - February 13, 2015 reply

I think you vlogging your #littleloves would be great – go for it! I’ve heard really good thinks about Big Hero 6, was thinking about taking Lucas to see it.
    The flapjacks look really yummy!
Hope you and yours have a lovely weekend xx

  • lifewithmunchers - February 13, 2015 reply

Great round of little loves this week. I’d be raiding that stock room too if I were her age (although I wouldn’t look that cute!)
I can’t decide about the vlogging. I just think it’d be another thing to try and master. Although you have the vlogging queen next door!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! x
