Netflix marathons, bikinis and Shopkins! #littleloves

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves post!

I’m fully bracing myself for an attack of the green eyed monster when I read all the lovely tales of bank holiday adventures in my fellow littleloves blogs. I wish I could write the same but alas I spent Friday to Monday in bed ill. Boo. So, this is definitely a chance for me to focus on the little bits of good that made up my week and forget about the plans we cancelled, sob.

Look, look it’s my friend Aimee’s book in print!

I’ll be doing a full review of it next week but if you can’t wait for that, and who can? Then just head straight on over to Amazon.

Apart from magazines and blog posts I’ve not read much else this week at all.

Being confined to the sofa or my bed over the long weekend meant that I watched a whole lot of Netflix!

I binged watched the whole season of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and caught up on Once Upon a Time much to my husband’s amusement. To be honest, I think he’s just relieved I haven’t made him watch them with me!

I can’t let this section pass without mentioning THAT episode of Greys Anatomy. If you haven’t seen it yet (or couldn’t care less!) you’ll want to scroll past this bit..

Honestly I very used to Greys making me cry but this was too much. Poor Mer, what is she going to do? No Cristina, and now no Derek *wails inconsolably* Oh Shonda Rimes, what are you doing to us??

My ‘jamas and dressing gown for most of this week!

On Thursday I popped into New Look and checked out their Petite section after being to happy with my last purchases, especially my black dungarees! I also picked up a bikini while I was there. I’m not 100% confident with the way I look at the moment, but I’m not going to let that stop me wear a bikini on the beach in France – I’m fed up of waiting until I look a certain way – that day may not come and I’m not going to waste any more time!

New Look bikini

When I was a teenager a friend of mine used to make me lots of mixed CDs with a lot of American alternative indie music. He really had a massive influence on the bands I like and even who I listen to now (well, if you don’t count Taylor Swift!). While on Spotify this week a track from one of those CDs came on and I rediscovered a band I love. Their music has been so good to work to this week.

Explosions in the Sky

I haven’t made a thing! E on the other hand has been busy playing with her Barbies, Shopkins and Playdoh. She’s been loving wrapping up the Shopkins in Playdoh and helping the Barbies to open them! So cute to watch, not that she likes me watching her though! Are your kids like that? E gets embarrassed if she catches me peering in to see what she’s up to.

and lastly..

I had lovely plans for going to a bluebell wood and having a picnic just like we did last year (I blogged about it here) but apart from leaving the house to take the girls to the park we didn’t manage to do anything. I felt bad for the girls, but my husband told me to stop worrying and to actually notice how much fun they were having just playing together at home. I think I fall into this trap a lot,  I build up what we should be doing in my head so much that I don’t appreciate what actually happens! This quote is quite apt I think!

I am sorry to hear you’ve been unwell Morgana and I really hope you feel better soon. I know exactly what you mean about enjoying them moment rather than thinking what it should be. It is so easy to fall into. I am loving your bikini. It is totally gorgeous and such bright colours! Enjoy wearing it! 🙂 Have a lovely weekend! xx

That Greys episode broke me completely! I cried for days {I know how stupid!} It really effected me and after I watched it I made the Mr hug me tight for at least 10 minutes! He didn’t get it at all.. It was the whole flashback thing, the quotes “choose me, love me” bit that was too much to take!

Shopkins are a huge favourite in this house, Moo loves them and they are cheap enough for pocket money which is always a bonus! Go you with the bikini, its gorgeous, and I bet you will look amazing in it!
Have a lovely week ahead Morgana

Aaah hun hope you’re feeling loads better! That bikini is stunning, you will look amazing – I need to tell myself that more too. And the quote at the end? Made For Me…. I’m constantly stressing that I should be entertaining everyone instead of just enjoying the moment 🙂 Have a fab weekend sweets. Kerry x

Aww sorry you were ill over the weekend, but it sounds like your girls had a lovely time together nonetheless 🙂 me and my sisters were the same with our Barbie games, probably because we put on American accents and knew how silly we sounded! Hope you have a better weekend this time round xx

  5. May 8, 2015 / 6:43 am

Sorry to hear you were ill, I’m kind of hoping I come down with a mild cold the week the new season of Orange is the New Black comes out so I can binge watch it! xx

Love your philosophy on the bikini, you have a gorgeous figure Morgana. You’ll look amazing. I’ve bought Amy’s book for my holiday, can’t wait to read.

Sorry you’ve been poorly, hope you’re on the mend now.

I am currently watching THE episode now, I already knew what happened as the papers declared it when it went live in the US. I’m going to cry aren’t I? xxx

Hope you’re feeling better – being ill really sucks, especially when you have made plans.
I absolutely love that bikini! I am terrified of wearing a bikini now, since having Parker. I’ve not checked out the petite range in New Look – I really struggle with clothes as I’m so short!
    Enjoy your weekend xx

Sorry you were so sick babes. Not fun. I have been trying to decide if I want netflix or not?? I used to have it but nothing new was ever added but lately it seems to have stepped it up a notch! Hope you are feeling better. That bikini is absolutely amazing and good for you for just going with what you want and love and not waiting for a certain shape, size or feeling. I am trying to follow your steps in that because life is too short not to. I am in need of a new bikini so you have just motivated me to just go buy one. Love your quote at the end as always inspiring. And that first styled photo I am lusting over. Love a good home decor snapshot! Thanks for hosting beautiful.

I feel for you being ill all over the bank holiday, hope your feeling better. Thank you for hosting #LittleLoves

  10. May 8, 2015 / 8:58 am

Firstly – I’m so glad you’re feeling better!

Secondly – I may take inspiration from you regarding the bikini…I actually switched to swimming costumes that last few times. But why should I? Just because my stomach isn’t ‘beach ready’ I shouldn’t let that stop me.

    Thanks xx

It’s always the way, illness strikes when you get a few days off! Glad you are feeling better, and how very true that quote is! I wish I shared your bikini philosophy also -everybody should be able to feel that way!Have a fab week missus x

Oh bless you pet, really hope you’re feeling better now! Wasn’t Grey’s just so traumatic? I think there are only about 3 of the original cast left now! So sad 🙁 I love your new bikini – gorgeous! I always operate on the policy that no one knows me on holidays, so just go for it! Have a great weekend lovely xx

  13. May 8, 2015 / 11:34 am

Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather – why does it always happen on a bank holiday!?! I love the bikini (haven’t worn one since I was about 18!) and your attitude of acceptance and making the most of what you have is something we should all live by! Have a lovely weekend! x

Oh M, sorry you’ve been ill. Hope you are feeling better now.
That bikini is gorgeous and I’m sure you’ll rock it! I’m opting for full costumes (no one wants to see my bump on holiday!)
Hope you have a great weekend xx

  15. May 8, 2015 / 3:35 pm

Oh such a shame you weren’t well for the Bank Holiday – you’ll have to have a special one this weekend to make up for it. Had to show my girls the Shopkins photo and now they’ve run downstairs to get their playdoh out! Sorry I’ve not been on #littleloves for a few weeks..have missed it and I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s posts now. Have a great weekend, Ax

I love that bikini! I’m far too pale to expose that much skin though. I need something like they used to wear in the olden days, like an all in one long sleeved number 🙂

I am so nosey I couldn’t help but have a look at the books on your shelf in the background on that first pic! Some good ones on there.

Glad you’re feeling better. Have a lovely weekend xxx

  17. May 8, 2015 / 10:36 pm

So sorry to hear you’ve been ill, I was hit hard over the bank holiday weekend with a sore throat, heavy cold, cough thing too that just sucked all the energy out of me. Gutting, isn’t it? Still, looks like you’ve had a lovely week despite that and your girls have enjoyed some down time! Love that quote at the end – so very true!

  18. May 8, 2015 / 10:52 pm

That is a brilliant quote – and so very true – it’s lovely to sit back and watch the family just being, but it takes a bit of reminding too!

  19. May 9, 2015 / 3:40 am

Sorry to hear you’ve been so poorly. I hope you can have lots of fun this weekend to make up for last. Thanks for hosting another fab week of #littleloves

  20. May 9, 2015 / 7:33 am

I went straight to Amaxon after reading your “Read” and popped Aimee’s book into my basket! Hope you are feeling better, it’s a shame you fell I’ll on the bank holiday weekend, although there is a lot to be said for having a whole weekend in bed! I absolutely love your bikini and talking about green with jealousy…..I wish we were off on holiday this year! I really need to catch up on Greys, I have missed quite a few episodes. Hope you have a lovely weekend xxxx

Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell – nothing worse when you’ve already made lovely plans. Hope you can make up for it this week xxx

  23. May 9, 2015 / 7:47 pm

I hope you’re feeling better Morgana! Love love love your bikini, it just shouts HOLIDAY! Our girls are into making ‘treasure chests’ with silk clay at the moment… basically just burrowing little beads into a big lump of clay and then covering it up so only they know what’s there! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend xx

  24. May 9, 2015 / 9:54 pm

Sorry to hear you’ve been poorly. I was in bed Sunday at 4pm with a migraine and that was long enough, let alone all weekend-bless you. I hope you’re feeling better now.
Love that saying at the end. So frequently I/we compare ourselves to others or think about what we ‘should’ be doing, when its all rubbish, we have to do whats best/possible for us at that time.
Love your attitude to your bikini-wonderful! xx

  25. May 10, 2015 / 9:53 pm

So sorry you’ve been ill, it sucks to be poorly at any time but especially on a bank holiday weekend. Hope you’re feeling better now.
Such a good attitude to wearing a bikini, I tried mine on a few days ago and must admit to wincing a bit at the sight but I need to get over it and realise I will never be the size I was pre O.
Hope this weekend was much better for you xxx
