New coats, Incubus and Banana bread with Nutella #LittleLoves

Welcome to this weeks Little Loves post!

I forgot to mention last week that I’ve finished A Year of Marvellous Ways. It was an absolutely beautiful book, and one that I will no doubt read again. I adore Sarah Winman’s style of writing, her books need time dedicated to them so you can get lost in them and their detail.

I was very excited to see my shop featured in the recent Mum and Baby edition of OK! Magazine in their tween and teen gift guides!

I must say a big thank you to Alison Perry (Not Another Mummy Blog) for including me.

To celebrate we’ve currently got 30% off our whole range of bags and hats, (this includes Animal) so make sure you take a look – Little and Fierce

I think I’ve mentioned before that our eldest is reading through the Harry Potter series? Well she’s still loving it and we’ve decided to introduce the films to E, basically because N got the whole box set for her birthday! We’ve watched the first one and over the weekend we snuggled up on the sofa together and started the Chamber of Secrets.

We’ve been loving the new season of Catastrophe, we rarely find a comedy show that suits both of us, but this is just perfect, so funny.

Of course my love of First Dates in still going strong, and yes I’m still getting way to involved and emotionally invested in it all. I just can’t help but squeal in delight and clap like a little girl when dates go well!

I picked up winter school coats for the girls and thought it might be about time I finally got myself a new ‘Mum Coat’ that’s warm and water proof, something perfect for the school run. I picked up one in Warehouse and while I’m not a huge fan of the faux fur trim there didn’t seem to be many coats in this style without it. I took the trim off but then the hood isn’t big enough! I must say though the photo below doesn’t do it justice, it’s actually a lot nicer in person, so to speak.

Faux fur parka – Warehouse

I must say it’s super warm and cosy and I have come around to the idea of the fur trim after wearing it for a few days.

I’ve been loving Incubus this week, after Radiohead last week it seems I’m rediscovering all my favourite bands. For me Incubus never gets old, I love their music just as much now as I did when I first heard it. The album Morning View, which incidentally was the first one I owned, is on permanently in my car. Every time I listen to it I’m reminded of the time when I, unfortunately missed out on going to see them. Basically we had tickets, then the cancelled the gig and rescheduled, but unfortunately the rescheduled date was when I was 7 months pregnant with Noo so it just wasn’t possible for me to go. Anyway, the mister still went and took along a friend and while he was there he called me during one of the songs. He thought he was creating a romantic moment calling me during what he thought was their song ‘Wish you were here’, however the song he actually called me during was ‘Nice to Know You’, of which the main phrase in the chorus is ‘Goodbye nice to know you’. Of course this sent heavily pregnant hormonal me over the edge! I was not impressed! It definitely makes me laugh when I think about it now.

Here’s the song he wanted to call me during..

I made good use of some over-ripe bananas hanging around in our fruit bowl and baking some banana bread, needless to say that didn’t hang around long at all. Of course, it’s even more yummy with Nutella spread all over it!

and lastly..

I’m super excited because tomorrow my little shop turns 1 year old. This time last year we were super busy getting all the last minute things ready and I was a bundle of nerves. It’s been a big learning curve for me but I’m loving running my own business and actually feel quite proud of what I’ve achieved so far.

This quote has very definitely been my mantra this year..

Check back here on Saturday as I’m writing about my first year and there’s a giveaway too!

Have a lovely weekend!

Congratulations to your shop!! Well done, it must take a lot of work to set something like that up. How great that it was in OK! I hope that brought in lots of extra business for you! I totally forgot I had watched Catastrophe this week, I totally would have included it. It’s so funny! I love her. Love your new coat too, looks lovely! Happy one year anniversary to your shop, time really flies doesn’t it?! Your Incubus story made me laugh, I can just picture the scene and it is so something my husband would do too haha. Have a great week 🙂

Happy 1st birthday Little and Fierce! The first year is such a step learning curve and you’ve done so well to navigate all that it entails.
Your coat look lovely. I also have a fur trim on my coat. It currently smells like a wet dog as the fur dries out after a rain storm this morning, so that’s something for you to look forward to!! 😉

Happy 1st Birthday Little and Fierce – how exciting. Congratulations on making it through your 1st year and staying sane! The incubus story made me giggle-its amazing how often B does something silly while trying to be romantic. Makes you chuckle later on though x

Yummy, I adore banana bread and nutella! What a great idea 🙂 Your new coat looks so warm and cozy. I have to admit I had some coat envy yesterday when it was so wild outside. I wished that I could fit into a warmer more waterproof coat (baby belly is too big!). Also, big congratulations on your shop being featured in OK! Well done you 🙂 xx
