Lonely sunflowers, The Civil Wars and long lasting lipstick #LittleLoves

Happy Friday!

Check out my bargain sunflowers, just £2 and the only lonely bunch left when I popped into Booths yesterday. I just had to get them and bring them home.

Like last week I’m continuing to try something a little different by doing two separate posts, this one jam packed with my Little Loves and one with the linky for bloggers to link up their posts, you can see that one here.

After a week of feeling rotten I was so pleased to have a weekend of no plans. I spent most of Saturday cleaning and tidying our poor neglected house and felt so much better for doing it. Though looking around now, I do wonder why I bother sometimes!

Now onto better things, those wonderful little things, grab a cuppa and have a read.

I know, I know, I said I’d have finished When God Was A Rabbit by now, but I haven’t. It’s been a busy week for my shop, with a Winter Fayre to do as well as promoting the site and getting in new stock so that with the busy-ness of a family and this blog has left little time for reading. I did write about about my favourite books if that counts at all. Did you see it – The Joy of Rereading Books

I did grab five minutes to read Molly’s post, A spirited child or just plain naughty. As a fellow mum of spirited girls, I definitely related!

After waiting for the mister to catch up we’re now up to date with PEAKY BLINDERS. Oh man, that first episode of the new season was rather epic, wasn’t it? Honestly if you’ve never watched this programme, then get on it! The first two seasons are on Netflix and season 3 and the start of season 4 is on BBC iplayer.

Youtube wise Pamela from Life With Munchers has put together a great little vlog with tips on learning to be more minimalist as a family. This is something we’re working on too so I found it really helpful.

On Netflix I’ve just started Sinner after a few of you recommended it to me. It’s compelling viewing that’s for sure. I’m so intrigued and desperate to know all the facts of what happened to Cora.

So this week I made the leap and got a new phone! I’m now the proud and tentative owner of an iphone 8plus, I say tentative as I’m waiting for my case to be delivered and I’m petrified I’ll drop it before then!

As for anything creative, aside from making cinnamon rolls (you know the pre-made roll that you just cute into portions and bake – so not very taxing!), I’ve done very little that I can put in here. Does adding lovely new stock to my site count? I mean just look at this unicorn!

Oh dear, I feel like I’m failing on all fronts this week! While I’ve worn nothing of note but I have just received a set of new Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink lipsticks to try out.

Word to the wise, don’t try this long stay lipstick just before the school run and then try to wipe it off. It will not end well for you. See my Instagram for more on this..

I’m having a thing for The Civil Wars this week, I’m still so sad that they’re not making music together any more. I mean their voices together are just so beautiful.

And sorry (not sorry), but we’ve been loving listening to this Harry Styles track loud in the car this week

As for podcasts, I think Lola Hoad of One Girl Band has been hitting it our of the park recently. I’ve been so inspired by her chats recently. Another one of note is Small and Mighty, this week Sam chats to Richard Huntingdon of Saatchi & Saatchi and it’s fascinating. Titled ‘Big Brand Thinking for Small Businesses’, it’s a must listen if you’re a small business owner with big ambitions.

and lastly

Last chance to enter two of my giveaways. One is over on Instagram (find it here) where you can win this beaut of a print by Paperjoy, be quick though it closes at 8pm today (Friday)

and there’s this one ending soon too..

Have a fantastic weekend!

What a busy week! I so prefer a phone without its case, but like you I upgraded recently and I am so worried about smashing the screen I gave in and bought one. It’s totally worth it for a smashed screen! Will pop over later and enter those competitions! Not sure how I missed them!! Have a wonderful week!

Oooo Happy New Phone! Isn’t it a fab feeling getting a new gadget?

A new iPhone, very nice! I’d be the same, terrified of dropping it. I think my husband has watched Peaky Blinders, but it looks like something I’d enjoy too. I’m a little bit jealous of how many TV series you’re up to date with – my lot is The Apprentice and I’m a Celeb – about all I ever manage! Hope you’re having a lovely weekend xx

Glad to hear that your shop is nice and busy, even if its leaving little time for everything else. Loe the unicorn necklace. I’ve heard such good things about Peaky Blinders its next on our watch list when we get to end of Suits.

It sounds like you’ve had a pretty hectic week. It’s so lovely to be busy though. I have to say, those lipsticks are so gorgeous!! I really want one in that exact colour. I also love The Civil Wars. Their voices are so captivating! xx
