Outlander, disappearing cupcakes and Radiohead #Littleloves

Outlander, disappearing cupcakes and Radiohead #Littleloves

How is it Friday? I mean seriously. Who pressed that fast forward button? I cannot cope with how quickly the last few weeks have zoomed by. I know I have said this kind of thing a lot recently but I can’t help it, it’s how I feel right now! Anyone else? I can’t be alone in this surely. My eldest is 10 in two weeks and I haven’t even started buying her birthday presents… anyway I digress. Let’s get started on my Little Loves, so, are you ready for some positivity? Grab a cuppa and enjoy, don’t forget you can read lots of other bloggers’ Little Loves by clicking on the linky at the end.

I’ve not had much time to read these week I’ve managed a few pages of Tin Man and The Keeper of Lost Things, but that’s about all. I’ve not even read many blog posts this week. I swear I don’t know where the time has gone. I’ve got a huge pile of books to read yet I still find myself eyeing up new ones. It takes all my willpower to stay out of bookshops and not go on my Amazon app.

I am crazy late to the party but I’ve discovered Outlander on Amazon.  I’ve managed to binge my way through the first season, which is probably why I haven’t read much this week as any down time I’ve had I’ve been opening up Outlander and watching it while ironing or cooking tea. I’ve had to be careful having it on my ipad with the girls around though, some of the scene are, well, rather graphic! I’ve had to have quick reflexes to press the skip button that’s for sure!

The mister and I have also caught up with The Good Place that I mentioned last week and now have to wait for the weekly episode to upload each Friday, boo.

As a family we had a movie afternoon over the weekend and watched Wonder Woman. We missed it at the cinema and have been desperate to watch it so as soon as it popped up we bought it! What a fantastic film, the mister, myself and my eldest were glued, whereas my youngest did puzzles instead.

Move along… nothing to see here. I did make cupcakes for E and her friend on Monday after school but sadly there is no photographic evidence to document it!

Nothing of note this week, oh gosh this is turning into a massive fail, isn’t it?

I’ve just had two exciting clothes deliveries though and I can’t wait to share the outfits with you. Fingers crossed I’ll have lots to share in this bit next week.

Did you see my post earlier in the week, the one about my favourite coffee shop? There’s an outfit shot or two in that one 😉

Podcasts wise Hashtag Authentic was particularly good this week as it had the Brand Stylist Fiona Humberstone on and I love her and her book so for me it was so good to hear her chat about branding and colour psychology. I’m working on updating this blog with a new theme so it was good to be reminded of what my colour theme is and how to apply it. I’ve got one of Fiona’s books How To Style Your Brand and often finf my self turning back to it for inspiration. Of course I have my eye on her latest book, but I’m resisting!

Spotify put together a personal ‘Time Capsule playlist and apart from the random Disney songs (!!) it’s so good! Lots of Radiohead, The Cardigans, The Strokes. This song in particular had me reminiscing.

Another great one..

If I could share a link to the whole playlist I would, but it’s personalised to my account so it wouldn’t work and you’d probably find the mix of songs rather bizarre anyway!

and lastly

I’m a bit of a quote-aholic. You only have to follow me on Pinterest to see just how many quotes I pin, honestly I think it’s some kind of disorder or addiction! Last year I used to share my favourite of the week in this section and somewhere along the line I got out of the habit, so anyway, here I am bringing it back with this one.

If you’re on Instagram and want to join in with the Little Loves community on there, it’s so easy just use the hashtag #littleloves on any photo that shows something little that you love – so that can be pretty much anything! I’ll share my favourites on Stories each Friday.

Man, I really need to get into listening to Podcasts! What’s the best way of listening to them? I need to do some research… I’d love Fiona’s book so maybe listening to the podcast she’s on will be a halfway measure until I can spare some pennies to buy it!

I love your style and look forward to the new theme. I am also working desperately on a new theme. It’s not exactly finished but needing a new change pronto. Love that top of yours I saw on instagram. Might need to copy and buy one for myself. I am in desperate need to go Autumn/Winter shopping. I love your colors, style and branding you always stick to it so well from what you wear, do, share, snap up. It’s vintage fabulous! Just like you! Can’t wait to catch up soon. Hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead! #littleloves

I have a little queue of Hashtag Authentic podcasts that I’m saving up for next time I go to the gym! Fiona’s does sound great. Loving the photographs that you’re having taken recently Morgana, they really do look very natural. Glad to hear that I’m not the only one who rarely makes anything lol. xx

  6. October 6, 2017 / 4:37 pm

I love Outlander too, Morgana, I’ve been watching it for ages but am still only half way through season 2! I know what you mean about watching it alone – it’s definitely not family viewing! That’s probably one reason it’s taking me so long to get through it. I’m keen to get onto season 3 now that it’s out 🙂 xx

I love that quote, after hearing about the blogging community attempting to tear shreds off each other day I feel this is quite apt.

  8. October 6, 2017 / 9:19 pm

Those photos are lovely. I love how you have been captured. I’m looking forward to seeing what you have been buying! Enjoy the weekend x

  9. October 6, 2017 / 10:12 pm

What a wonderful quote! I love Outlander! I just rewatched series one and two before starting on series three, which is pretty damn amazing so far! Been meaning to get myself a copy of that styling book for ages. I’m like you though and have to ban myself from Amazon and bookshops. I may have accidentally bought a few 99p books on amazon last night though – it’s an illness I’m sure! Have a great weekend x

We too missed the baking photo evidence so I had to use a stock image but otherwise I didn’t do toooo bad this week!

  11. October 7, 2017 / 5:15 pm

Oooh I’ll have to track down that podcast as I LOVE how to style your brand and often dip into it from time to time. I was late to the Outlander game too and watched the first season at the end of last year. I’ve not quite gotten to season two yet though but I do plan to! #LittleLoves

  12. October 7, 2017 / 6:03 pm

Ive got some bits but still in desperate need of updating my autumn/winter wardrobe. I feel i need to give podcasts a chance, they aren’t something that i have ever listened to before. At the moment its all about finding the time to get everything done. I love that quote at the end.

  13. October 7, 2017 / 8:50 pm

I’m completely with you on losing this week. I love your photos, it’s so good to see writers in front of the camera. I must discover podcasts, I don’t seem to have found anytime for reading so it would be good to get some ideas into my head another way. Hope this week goes a little slower for you. x

  14. October 8, 2017 / 5:03 pm

I love that quote. So true. I think the weeks are flying by at the moment too, I honestly don’t know where the time goes. I hope you’re having a lovely weekend x

  15. October 8, 2017 / 9:09 pm

Tin Man keeps popping up on my feed so I think curiosity is going to get the better of me. So glad you finally got to see Wonder Woman. It’s one of the few films I’ve managed to catch in the cinema this year and it was totally worth it.

  16. October 11, 2017 / 6:54 pm

I’m the same with books at the minute-can’t seem to get through the ones I have but constantly eyeing up new ones. Wonder woman sounds like one we’d enjoy too, we love a good superhero! Also love a quote they completely inspire me. Have a great week x

  17. October 11, 2017 / 9:23 pm

I was exactly the same last week, so so manic that I was far to tired to read my book and the week finished before i knew it! Hope the birthday planning goes well, Joe is 17 next week arghhh !
