It’s been back to normal for us this week, no more holiday it’s all about school and work, and after two weeks off it was a shock to the system I can tell you! At least we have this lovely bank holiday weekend to look forward too. Here’s hoping we at least get a bit of sun for it.
I’ve just started another book this week, but I’m only a few chapters in. I don’t think it’s going to be life changing or up there with my favourite books but I’m enjoying it so far.
I have been religiously reading this book however, Sarah Wilson’s I Quit Sugar. I made a rather spontaneous decision last week that when we got back I’d try quitting sugar. If you know me you’ll know I’m not one for faddy diets and can be rather derisive when it comes to diet plans so it’s a bit bizarre for me to be trying this one. I’ve stayed the same weight(ish) since having my girls but that is 2 stone more than I was before having them! I’m only 5ft 2 so there’s just no where to hide when it comes to carrying extra weight. I’ll be blogging more about why I’m doing it and how I’m getting on in the coming weeks but first I want to see if I can make it through the first week before making big statements about it!
PS According to my guru Sarah Wilson, wine has negligible amounts of fructose so I can still drink it! Only a couple of glasses every now and again though. Kind of makes up for not being allowed tonic any more.
GAME OF THRONES!
Don’t worry there will be no spoilers here, let’s just say it didn’t disappoint.
I’ve also had a big catch up on the TV I missed while we were away last week. Particularly The Tunnel and Line of Duty, if you’re not watching them then you really should be!
I’ve been making all our meals from scratch this week, this is something I pretty much do anyway but I’ve had a to tweak a few ingredients. It’s been all about the salads for lunch..
And this was the closest to a mid-week roast that I’m going to get!
I’ve also been making our new bathroom look pretty. While we were away last week we had our new bathroom fitted and I honestly couldn’t be any happier with it. We’ve got a couple of jobs left to do like get a mirror/mirrored cabinet and a blind (ASAP!) and then I’ll be doing a proper room tour blog post.
I finally got myself THAT yellow mac from Topshop this week
I also discovered that I fit into age 14 at H&M! Hello tax free clothes! Well the dresses and the tops, I doubt I could squeeze myself into the trousers.
It’s been all about the heavier music this week, I find that I’m way more productive with that kind of soundtrack. It’s funny the impact music can have isn’t it?
Here’s my #LittleLoves Spotify playlist
I’ve been loving Nothing but Thieves, this song in particular, makes me wish I was young and cool enough to still be in a band!
The mister and the biggest girl have their triathlons on Monday. N is so excited about it and has been out training with daddy (rather her than me!), I hope she enjoys it and has fun.
